PROJECT  |   Educational Interactive Tiny House

OBJECTIVE  |  Create a portable display that can be used at events for educational purposes such as: sustainability, energy efficiency, LES programs and safety.

As part of LES’ Sustainable Energy Program, along with the company’s ongoing community outreach goals, The Educational Interactive Tiny House, or EdITH, is a mobile educational tool designed to demonstrate sustainable energy technologies in the home along with LES’ own initiatives through the Sustainable Energy Program.

  • EdITH is a hands-on, interactive way of engaging with community members and educating them on a variety of sustainable energy topics, like the importance of using the right insulation or the benefits of smart thermostats.

  • Gives LES the ability to engage with customers in a new, exciting way.

  • Fills gaps within our community outreach/education efforts, especially related to energy efficiency.

  • Expands our reach with a hands-on, interactive learning tool.

To demonstrate the broad scope of sustainability this project has had from its inception. Going from being built through a community effort to maintain a healthy workforce in Lincoln (via The Career Academy) to educating the LES service area about sustainable energy practices and initiatives for LES’ Sustainable Energy Program. None of this could have been possible without the community partnerships that have been forged.

For this project, I was the strategist, brand owner, community liaison, interior designer and project manager. I led our team of a website specialist, copywriter communications specialist focusing on PR and communications specialist focusing on social media to create promotional items represent the project. I also found and managed construction vendors, custom cabinet makers, virtual rendering specialists and anyone needed to complete the construction of EdITH once it was given to us by the students (they built the shell/wiring). In addition, I managed all budgetary activities related to the project and different phases.
